Audition notice for audio-serial Harry Strange

An open casting call for audio-drama Harry Strange is underway.  Casting includes primary characters as well as secondary characters appearing the first five episodes.  

The story is a paranormal-noir revolving around Harry Strange, a private investigator who is both more and less that what he appears to be.  The first season of 15 thirty-minute episodes are written and several smaller media outlets have the property under consideration for distribution.

Currently, compensation is in credit and samples. Completed audio CDs will be given to the cast and crew at the end of the of the first season. (Food will be provided during local recording sessions).

Preferences are for local (Atlanta/Cobb) area performers, but all recordings will be considered.

Magic and magical people--the 'unnatural order' is all around us. There are white witches, black witches, demons, vamps, werewolves, shape shifters, ghosts; it's a protoplasmic party of creature features out there. But unless you know where to look, you won't find them. I know where to look. My name is Harry Strange.

Maybe. Now you lay back and I am going to put my fingers on the sides of your head. Just relax. Think of a calm place; a place that's safe and warm. Imagine yourself getting lighter--your legs feel like they are filled with air; your arms want to float towards the ceiling--now your legs...(VOICE OVER WITH EFFECTS FILTER) The room melted away from me and, at first, there was nothing but whiteness. Distance was impossible to judge.

It's been said that today's magic is tomorrow's science. My name is Carmen Strega and I live in the gray place between science and magic.

Up until about 4 months ago, I was working with a very special private investigator named Harry Strange; he was more than PI, he was the Favorite. The Favorite of who or what, I wasn't sure--but I was getting closer. I've  spent the last 4 months looking for Strange.

Three days ago I get very strange call about my partner. But let's start at the beginning.

No, seriously. This where they got the idea for Scream. Those guys in that movie were nothing compared to this guy.  He kept the heads of his victims in a jar so he could talk to them between kills. When the police broke into his house, they said there were over 27 heads in freaking gallon sized wine bottles. He had cut their eyelids off so they would always have to see him and watch what he was doing to his newest toy.  

They said he liked to go out to the park, find people who were making out. He always tried to kill the guy first--cut off his head.  Then he would drag the girl back to his house and...play with her...awhile.  

Girlfriend/Susie (She is also in two of the later episodes)

No, forget it.  This crap always happens in horror movies. You're going to say it's nothing, then you will get out of the car to investigate.  About 2 seconds later, your headless body will be tossed on the front window and I will scream just before a freaking harpoon hits me in the eye.  Start the car and drive, now.

You've got some day laborers to thank for saving you. Three of them were eating their lunch in one of the rooms that are under construction and heard the gunshots. They came running and subdued the doc until we got there. The nurse tried to run but the foreman caught her. You need to make a pilgrimage to Mexico and light some candles, amigo.

Ready for what? This doesn't make any sense. How can someone from a dream do this kind of damage? It's not like you can pull things from the dream world into the real world.

She was beautiful. Her skin was the color of caramel.  There was sweet smell whenever I was near her-I just wanted to stand near her and inhale. I followed her around like a lovesick teenager-very unbecoming for an intern. Less so because she was barely out of her teens.

But they won't just kill them--they will torment them with their nightmares--except the nightmares will be here in the physical world. Imagine spiders the size of Volkswagens, people falling out of their beds and dying...The monster under the bed becoming real. Everyone will be affected--the labor to the President of the United States; I wonder how his nightmares would manifest themselves. And you know what Strange, there isn't anything you can do about it.
